Terms and conditions

  1. Rates are excluding VAT.
  2. Full Day is 7 working hours on site (typically 8.00am – 4.00pm with 1 hour for lunch).
  3. Half Day is 3.5 working hours on site (typically 8.00am – 11.30am or 12.30pm – 4.00pm).
  4. Days / Half days booked will be charged for in full even if the full period booked is not worked. It is the sites responsibility to have enough work to keep the technician busy for the full appointment.
  5. Call out period is 3-5 days from receipt of request for works.
  6. Rates include labour & materials (unless otherwise stated)
  7. Any parking costs incurred will be added to your invoice (this is per vehicle), unless otherwise stated.
  8. Saturdays are charged at our day rate + £ 90.00 if we are requested to work them. We may offer them at standard rates if we cannot attend within the 3-5 days due to high levels of work.
  9. Sundays and nights are charged at 2 x our day rate, if we are requested to work them. We may offer them at standard rates if we cannot attend within the 3-5 days due to high levels of work.
  10. Bank holidays are charged at 2 x our day rate, if we are requested to work them.
  11. The customer accepts that any time required for inductions or such like is classed and included as part of the working period booked.
  12. Payment due date is 28 days from date of invoice and final receipt (by Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited) of payment is 35 days from date of invoice for all account customers unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties before the commencement of works. Non-account customers must pay in full on the day of works being carried out, unless otherwise agreed before works commence.
  13. Invoices are to be queried in writing within 7 days of the invoice being received, otherwise the requesting party accepts all works were completed to a satisfactory standard and the invoice is due in full.
  14. Retention is 0% unless agreed in writing by both parties before the commencement of works.
  15. No discounts are applicable unless agreed in writing before the commencement of works or by written agreement.
  16. Defects liability period is 12 months from completion of repair works, unless otherwise agreed in writing between parties before the commencement of works.
  17. All access requirements (scaffold/towers, MEWPS) are the responsibility of the requesting party unless agreed in writing before the commencement of works. Additional charges will be made for access equipment supplied
  18. A written request for attendance must be received by email, fax or post confirming client requirements before our attendance.
  19. A New Site Form or details on an order containing the following details must be completed or provided before our attendance:
    1. The name contact details and title of the person ordering the work.
    2. Confirmation that they have the authority of their employer to order such works.
    3. Company name and address.
    4. Site address and contact details.
    5. Contact details of an on-site person authorised to accept works each day. Please note that it is the responsibility of the requesting contracting party to inspect and accept (by means of signature on Fixation Surface Repair Specialists paperwork) completed works daily. Failure to provide such representative will be deemed as acceptance and signature for all work completed (subject to alternative arrangements agreed in advance and in writing between the parties).
    6. Contact details of the Quantity Surveyor (or other person) responsible for acceptance and payment of the invoices.
    7. Invoice address.
    8. Any other requirements of the purchasing company/individual to facilitate payment for works need to be provided at the time of booking and NOT after the event. Any information not requested at time of order subsequently requested or relied upon after Sub Contract works completion will not be a valid reason for delay of settlement of invoices.
    9. Photographs as requested by Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited.
    10. Paint colour (RAL) or manufacturers details and sheen (if known).
    11. Any special texture, design or other finish relevant to the required works.
    12. Any special or peculiar circumstances or limiting factors relevant to the location of the works, their surroundings and the safety of Fixation Surface Repair Specialists technicians and those in the vicinity.
    13. Power supply available 240v/110v.
    14. Lighting conditions, i.e. fixed, temporary or task (with temporary or task lighting it is accepted by the contracting party that subtle colour differences may be experienced when permanent lighting is installed). Responsibility for any variance and subsequent re-visit (and cost) rests entirely with the requesting party.
    15. Any restrictions on ventilation or requirement thereof.
    16. Parking availability (on site / off site). If parking is offsite then Fixation Surface Repair Specialists are to be notified of locations for parking and charges if applicable.
    17. Site operating hours.
    18. Notification of any other condition or pre-requisite for the accurate completion of Method Statements and Risk assessments.
    19. Site induction times/dates.
    20. Failure to comply with clause 6 above places all responsibility of risk and delay with the requesting contracting party.
    21. Fixation Surface Repair Specialists do not agree to the acceptance of any documentation or reference to documentation not supplied and agreed before our attendance.
    22. No responsibility is taken for damage caused to the Subcontract works either during or after the event unless such damage is expressly attributable to Fixation Surface Repair Specialists staff. Subcontract works will have the adjacent area protected at the time of repair and removed upon completion.
    23. Construction Industry Scheme (Taxation) – Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited is paid Gross under this scheme and our Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) will be supplied upon request.
    24. C.I.T.B – Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited is a member of this scheme, and we understand that a slight deduction will be made from payments.
    25. Failure to gain access to the Subcontract works will be deemed an “Abortive visit” and will be charged for in full. Cancellations inside of 24 hours will also be charged in Full.
    26. Delays to Sub-Contract work beyond the control of Fixation Surface Repair Specialists (This would include weather issue’s or Force Majeure) but directly attributable to others, may result in already agreed charges being upheld.
    27. The Glass polishing process produces heat. On rare occasions the glass may crack or break during the restoration process, this can be a result of thermal stress or more likely to other unknown existing flaws / imperfections or faults in the glass itself. Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited does not take responsibility for this occurrence. The glass is already damaged and in need of replacement before our attendance.
    28. Fixation Surface Repair Specialists Limited cannot be held responsible for slight distortions caused by the polishing process (as glass polishing is a technique of removing material and not adding material) in cases of distortion beyond the acceptable GGF regulations no charge will be made.
